Let's save 'The Wild Cats'
It is rightly said,'The school is a miniature
society’.It is here that students learn to socialise. They learn to socialise
through a plethora of activities held at school. Tigers’Day is celebrated on
30th July every year across the globe. The day aims to create awareness in the
minds of the people and spread a message to initiate steps to conserve this
endangered species.
Students and staff of Saraswati Vishwa
Vidyalaya National School,Thermax Chowk,Chinchwad marked the celebrations for
this day by organising a jungle party. The theme for the jungle party was
'Tiger- the wild cat’. Students were
dressed as tigers and to their surprise they were welcomed in the school
auditorium by the loud roar of tigers. The level of thrill and excitement
amongst the students grew when their
teacher entered the auditorium dressed in the tiger's costume and
mingled with them. A short story was
screened that revealed how this species has become extinct and as responsible
human beings how can we conserve them. The tempo of the jungle party continued
to enthuse the students and enjoy to the brim when students tapped their feet
together to present a jungle dance and had fun with Mowgli by dancing on the
tune ‘ jungle jungle baat Chali hai’ showcasing how Mowgli becomes friendly
with the tigers and promises to protect them. The message to conserve these
wild cats was put across aptly in a fun filled atmosphere. The students called
it a day by colouring the bookmark that had the image of a tiger with the tag
line -'Save Tigers’ .
